New electric axle from Allison

At the latest IAA edition, Allison unveiled its newest heavy-duty axle, the 85S, which completes the manufacturer’s eGen Power range launched in 2020. These axles are designed to replace traditional vehicle powertrains. The 85S features an electric motor and a two-speed gearbox, delivering a peak power of 325 kW (with a continuous output of 225 kW). This power enables high acceleration and speed without compromising the vehicle's range. The fully automatic nine-speed transmission is compatible with CNG, electric, and hydrogen fuel types. Its nine gears have been optimized to handle the frequent stop-and-start cycles typical of commercial vehicles.
