Diesel makes a comeback in Stellantis' lineup
Stellantis is reinvesting in diesel powertrains to balance its range and to better meet market demands. The diesel engine currently produced in France will be adapted to comply with new Euro 7 standards, extending its production until 2030, instead of the previously planned phase-out in 2025. Additionally, Stellantis is working to adapt an engine used in light commercial vehicles for passenger cars, and is even exploring the development of a smaller diesel engine.
