Continental develops sustainable TPMS from recyclable materials
Continental is advancing the development of tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) with recyclable materials, adopting a circular economy approach to recover and reuse end-of-life components. By 2030, the company aims to recycle 70 tons of lithium batteries and 200 tons of materials annually. Supported by the EU-funded Circ-Uits project, this initiative aligns with Continental's role as a TPMS leader, producing over 40 million sensors annually. Components such as valves, screws, sensors, and circuit boards, with an average lifespan of 10 years, can be recycled and repurposed.
