Mercedes-Benz Trucks marks production of one millionth heavy-duty engine
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has celebrated the production of its millionth heavy-duty engine at the Mannheim plant in Germany. The six-cylinder engine, with capacities ranging from 10.7 to 15.6 liters and power output from 240 to 460 kW (326 to 626 hp), powers various heavy-duty vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz Actros, Freightliner Cascadia, and Mercedes-Benz and Setra coaches. Founded in 1908, the plant employs 4,600 people and is a key hub for battery technologies and high-voltage systems.
