Mercedes-Benz unveils eco-friendly paint process for truck cabins

Mercedes-Benz is launching an eco-friendly paint process for truck cabins at its Wörth plant in Germany. The new method uses ultra-high-solid paint, enabling wet-on-wet application without drying between layers. This reduces energy consumption by up to 40% and cuts CO? emissions. The process will streamline operations, reducing painting stations from 15 to 5 and dryers from 4 to 2, with the new dryers operating without fossil fuels. The transition will be completed by 2026 without disrupting production, maintaining a daily output of over 400 truck cabins. The plant has been carbon-neutral since 2022, powered by renewable energy.
