In 2025, China became the leading supplier of passenger cars to Kazakhstan. Today, China ranks as the world’s second-largest automotive exporter, just behind Japan. Until 2021, Chinese car exports had never exceeded one million units per year. However, according to automotive analysts, China is projected to overtake Japan and become the world’s top vehicle exporter by 2026. Given this momentum, Chinese automakers are expected to strengthen their presence in Kazakhstan’s market, continuing to dominate as the country’s primary source of imported vehicles.
Since the rapid rise in Chinese car imports began in 2022, many of these vehicles are now reaching the stage where maintenance and repairs are needed. Consequently, Kazakhstan’s importers of spare parts are increasingly seeking reliable suppliers from China.
GROUPAUTO Central Asia is actively exploring opportunities to collaborate with other GROUPAUTO members connected to the Chinese automotive market, aiming to establish new partnerships in the near future.
