CATL Targets Europe with 1-Million-Kilometre EV Battery

Chinese battery giant CATL has unveiled its Shenxing Pro Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery range for the European market. Two variants—'Super Long Life & Long Range’ and ‘Super-Fast Charging’—offer up to 758 km WLTP range, 12-year lifespan, and 1 million km durability with only 9% capacity loss after 200,000 km (versus 30% for most current packs).
The 'Super-Fast Charging' model delivers 478 km of range in 10 minutes and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds even at 20% charge, while maintaining 410 km range in 20 minutes at ?20 °C. Production will begin in 2026 at one of CATL’s European plants in Germany, Hungary, or Spain, in partnership with Stellantis.
