François Provost Named Renault CEO After Luca de Meo’s Exit
Renault has appointed François Provost as chief executive officer, replacing Luca de Meo, who stepped down unexpectedly. Provost, 57, is a French engineer and veteran executive who currently oversees purchasing, partnerships, and public affairs at the group.
A graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Mines, Provost previously held roles at France’s Treasury and Ministry of Defense and has led Renault operations in Portugal, Russia, South Korea, and the Asia-Pacific region. His international experience was key to securing board approval, reflecting Renault’s aim to strengthen its global presence.
