Germany Leads Europe in EV Production

Germany dominated European electric vehicle manufacturing in 2024, hosting the continent’s four largest EV plants. Tesla’s Berlin factory led with 216,409 units, followed by Volkswagen’s Zwickau (203,242) and Emden (108,423) plants, and BMW’s Dingolfing (176,822).
Overall, European EV output fell 7% in 2024, with registrations down 1.3% to 1.99 million units. Volkswagen Group led with 29% market share, ahead of Stellantis (18%) and BMW (15%). Renault’s Douai plant ranked fifth with 89,921 units. Together, the top five facilities produced over half of Europe’s EVs.
