European Commission to Accelerate Automotive Transition by 2025

The European Commission plans to unveil new initiatives by late 2025 to speed up the automotive sector’s green transition. Measures will include updated CO? standards, incentives for affordable small EVs (€15,000–€20,000), and expanded support for battery production under the Battery Booster program.
An ‘Industrial Decarbonization Accelerator’ is scheduled before 2026 to regulate market access and streamline regulations. Brussels may also revisit the 2035 ICE ban, while reinforcing Europe’s control over key components and battery manufacturing.
