Stellantis Withdrawal Puts French Hydrogen Sector at Risk
Stellantis is closing its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle program, which included the Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen, Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, and Opel Vivaro-e Hydrogen. The company cited high costs and weak market demand.
While no job cuts are expected, the move endangers supplier Symbio, which derives 80% of its business from Stellantis. Shareholders Michelin and Forvia warned of “irreversible operational and financial consequences” for Symbio, which employs 640 people in France and abroad.
