Daimler Truck to Cut 5,000 Jobs in Germany by 2030

Daimler Truck plans to cut 5,000 jobs in Germany by 2030 as part of a major cost-saving program that includes shifting production to lower-cost countries. Reductions will occur mainly through retirements, attrition, and voluntary departures.
The company employs 103,400 people globally, including 35,000 in Germany, and aims to raise its operating margin from 8.9% in 2024 to 12% by 2030. Daimler Truck expects to save over €1 billion in Europe while expanding electric truck production, doubling defense operations, and growing in the Indian market.
