Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso Merge to Form Global Truck Powerhouse

Toyota and Daimler Truck have announced the merger of their subsidiaries Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso, creating a new entity with 40,000 employees and control over roughly 14% of the global heavy truck market.
The merger aims to strengthen competitiveness amid decarbonization and the rise of Chinese players. The new company will accelerate development of connected, autonomous, shared, and electrified trucks, including hydrogen models. Toyota and Daimler Truck will each hold 25% of the holding company, which will fully own Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso.
