EU Launches First “Clean Transport Corridors” for Heavy Vehicles

The European Commission has launched two pilot “clean transport corridors” to speed up charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The initial routes will cover the Scandinavia–Mediterranean and North Sea–Baltic corridors.
Nine member states—including Belgium, Germany, and Poland—signed a joint declaration to prioritize infrastructure projects and streamline funding under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF). By March 2026, the EU plans to publish a roadmap to extend the initiative to other TEN-T routes.
