Chinese EV Truck Maker Windrose to Build Factory in France
Chinese manufacturer Windrose plans to open an electric truck plant in Onnaing, northern France, by 2027. The €175 million, 90,000 m² facility will produce 4,000 trucks annually and employ 300 people.
The plant will assemble chassis, cabs, and batteries, complementing an initial production line in Belgium. Founded in 2022, Windrose has developed a prototype with a 670 km range, 49-ton capacity, and €221,000 price tag, with 200 orders already placed. Its design features a centrally positioned driver cabin adaptable to different road regulations.
