European carriers ready to go electric

The French fleet management technology company AddSecure has conducted a survey of 300 European carriers. The main question was, “Are you ready for the switch to EVs?”. More than 80% said they were willing to move to electric vehicles, alternative fuels, or both if conditions allow. In 26% of cases, respondents indicated that sustainability objectives were the motivation, while for 23% of companies the main driver lies in the requirements of their customers. The study reveals four obstacles that these companies must face before being able to take the plunge: vehicle autonomy, the lack of charging points, the weight of the batteries, and the high cost of electric vehicles.
