Sales in Europe fall

According to the European Tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA), the second quarter of 2023 was particularly difficult for the sector. At the end of the first six months of the year, all sectors showed negative results. The figures were even more disappointing for the heavy goods vehicle/bus and agricultural sectors. The former saw its volumes drop by 28% during the second quarter. It is now at -23% at mid-year (5.5 million units). The agricultural sector did even worse, with a drop of 34% over three months and 36% over the half-year.
