New ADAS on MAN trucks
MAN has developed new safety systems on these trucks. The “FrontDetection” safety system detects if pedestrians or cyclists are in front of the truck, when starting off and at low speeds (up to 10 km/h), by warning the driver with a visual and audible signal. At the same time, the new safety function is integrated into the warning and braking strategy of the third generation of MAN Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). This now detects other road users from 10 km/h who are not directly in the lane in front of the truck but could potentially cross the street, warns in the event of an imminent collision and, if necessary, automatically triggers the emergency braking to a stop.
