As the automotive industry undergoes a significant transformation towards sustainability and eco-friendliness, hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) have taken centre stage. These innovative vehicles offer numerous benefits, including reduced emissions and improved fuel efficiency. As a result, it is crucial for automotive technicians within the EuroTaller network, known for its multi-brand and multi-service approach, to be well-versed in the maintenance and repair of these modern marvels.

This requires up-to-date workshops trained to manage and provide service for any hybrid and electric vehicle in the region.

In recent months, EuroTaller Network workshops in Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela have received a rigorous training program in administrative management and in how to provide service to hybrid and electric vehicles. The technical training is divided into two blocks, a virtual theoretical part with a 15-hour program and the practical part with 20 hours of training per country.

Obviously, hybrid and electric vehicles operate differently from traditional internal combustion engine cars. They contain high-voltage components and pose unique safety challenges. Training EuroTaller technicians in the safe handling of these vehicles and the proper maintenance of their high-voltage systems is essential to protect both technicians and customers. Furthermore, staying informed about regulatory requirements related to hybrid and EV maintenance is crucial to ensuring compliance.

The course looks at the different systems that equip these technologies, as well as studying the high voltage system (HV Batteries, inverter/converter, generator, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, among others). Finally, the safety regulations for a high voltage systems intervention are explained.
