ZF introduces electromechanical braking system
ZF has unveiled a fully electromechanical braking system, ushering in a new era in automotive braking technology. Unlike traditional hydraulic systems that rely on brake fluid, this system generates braking force at each wheel through electric motors. Referred to as "dry brake-by-wire," braking signals from the pedal to the electric motor are transmitted purely electrically. Compared to conventional braking systems, this technology can significantly reduce braking distances, with potential savings of up to nine meters at speeds of 100 km/h. Additionally, electric vehicles equipped with this system can achieve up to 17% greater range thanks to enhanced recovery of braking energy.
