New light for cars

Since January 1^st, 2023, manufacturers have been allowed to illuminate a central logo or two logos, left and right, on the front grille and, newly, on the vehicle’s rear trunk. At the suggestion of France and Germany, this development was adopted in 2022 by the Forum for the Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations, which exists within the institutional framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). In the United States and China, where the authorization already exists, Mercedes offers shiny logos on its electric SUVs.
